DENTAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

What is a Dental Laboratory Technician

A dental technician is someone who makes dentures, or partials that a dentist places in the mouths of his or her patients. This is generally done in the commercial dental laboratory. Technicians may also work from their homes or in other dental offices that have laboratories.

If you have an interest or a background in art, science or manufacturing, these skills will be helpful but are not necessary for a career in this field.  Most people who enter this vocation (99% according to Department of Labor statistics) stay in this type of work.  If you like precision, quality, and hands on work, this may be a very interesting and profitable new adventure for you.
